A Good Time

Every year in July, Sanford and Manassa have a big celebration. It starts out on Thursday with a breakfast which always is so good. Then the parade in Sanford.
In the past we have ridden in the parade as a family. But this year we didn't which was ok by me. But usually all the people that do ride horses park their trucks and trailers by my mom's house and ride to main street from there. My brothers sister-in-law Tammy and nephew Peyton took Kyle and JD for a little ride before the parade so at least they got to ride some. The boys thought it was pretty fun.
Kyler on a float. He is getting so big.

My other nephew Thad is on this truck because their team won the championship. He is the one with the green cast. He is also getting big but they are all still cute.

Gilbert, Robyn, Clay, Kyle, Gina, JD, and Mom waiting for the parade to come back down Main Street. This is when Clay pulled Kyle's tooth out.

After the parade there is a BBQ and games at the church. Then they do races for all ages at the church softball field. This is JD getting ready to run his race. Gilbert is starting him. If you win you get a big bottle of pop. If you don't you get a sucker. JD told everyone that he ran really fast but didn't win. But he was pretty happy with his sucker.

Kyle getting ready for his race. He got a sucker too. He did win his first year but the competition has gotten pretty stiff since.
I'm pretty sure that giant of a kid won that is right next to Kyle. When I say for all ages I mean all ages. I even ran this year and I didn't get last.

This is at the parade in Manassa with alot of my family.

Kyle and JD goin for the candy.

Sharing an Otter Pop. They threw alot of Otter Pops and so it was a pretty awesome parade.

Aunt Karma on her float.

After the parade me and mom took the boys over to the Carnival. The big slide was my favorite, mostly because I got to ride it for free because JD did not want to go alone, but I have always liked it. I think we went on it about a million times.

Katie and JD waiting for the Carousel.

JD on a horse and Katie not on a horse but on the Carousel. Kyle behind us.

Thank goodness we only had to ride that thing once. The boys wanted to go more but I was able to talk them out of it.

The boys on some kind of weird train.

We went back to the Carnival the next day and the boys rode a pretty cool roller coaster that last year made JD sick, and we rode the Farris Wheel. We all liked the Farris Wheel almost as much as the big slide.
Every year there is always a ton food. If you go away hungry it is your own problem. But the thing about a Jacksons is that is never a problem. Why would you not eat the 2 different kinds of meat, the 3 bags of chips, the beans, the grape salad, the pretzel salad, the potato salad, the chicken salad, I could go on and on. That is just for lunch, in the house there is 3 different kinds of cake, 4 kinds of cookies, brownies, cinnamon rolls, pop, and again I could go on and on.

More of my family. Usually there is a water fight, or several water fights I should say, after lunch, but this year it was kinda cold so there was just a little one. My Grandma is the one that used to always start them, and she was one of the funnest to get, so I think that is where we got it from.

On Saturday morning there is a 5k run. The last time I ran it was in 1999. It was alot harder than I remember it. This is Kyler, Robyn, Ava, Coy, Me and Gil after the race.

The last parade. Yep, that's right THREE parades! What more can you ask!

More family at the Demolition Derby. This was the first year JD got to come. He didn't quite know what to think about it.

Kyler, Kyle and Thad.

More family.

Sunday morning before we left to come home. Mom and the boys.

Me, mom, the boys, Ava, Josh, Katie, Missy and Queenie.

Mom, Kyle, Gil, Flip, Missy, and Queenie

Katie, Gina, Josh, Mom, Coy, and Ava.
We always have a really good time during the celebration. There is so much to do and it is so nice to see my mom and brothers, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles and cousins and I can't forget all the dogs, it is a Jackson thing, that I don't get to see very often. There is a lot of us but that is part of why I love to go. I love my family.
