Kyle's First Day of School

I want to know who was the one is that decided that a five year old was responsible enough to go to school all day. I would like to talk to this person and give them a piece of my mind. I have got to say I was a nervous wreck yesterday on Kyle's first day of school. Yes I know he went to pre-school last year, and I was pretty sure that prepared me enough for Kindergarten.....NOT!!! Kyle has been so excited about going to school. The other day we were talking about going to school and I asked him if he was nervous or anything. He said "No. I wasn't nervous when I went to pre-school just alittle shy." He got over that and did fine. And I am sure he will be just fine. But pre-school was 3 hours a day for 4 days. Kindergarten is all day all week! And I don't know if I will be fine.

Kyle in his class room. They let the parents stay for about 45min. and kind of let the kids get settled. So I took Kyle to school and took him to his class and his teacher Mrs. Goehl said that they won't come right to class that they will go straight to the playground and wait for the bell to ring. So we went to the playground that is all the way around the building. Before I could explain to Kyle about the bell he took off and was playing with at least 10million kids and only one teacher watching all of them. I was having a hard time keeping track of him as it was then all of a sudden the bell rang and those 10million kids scattered and I couldn't find Kyle and was getting a little nervous. I finally saw him because he was the only kid left on the playground. He had a look on his face that I could tell he didn't know what was happening. I called him over and explained about the bell and to go get in his line. So then they wait there ALL BY THEMSELVES until their teacher comes to get them. Then we went in the room and Mrs. Goehl explained some things and told the parents to leave. And these next pictures are what flashed through my mind.

And several more. I couldn't believe what was happening! I was able to hold it together until I got outside. Matt took one look at me and new I was a mess. Anyway I was thinking about him all day and was so excited to go and pick him up from school so I could ask him all about his day. He got in the car and I said tell me about your day. Nothing, that is what he said. I had to dig and dig until I got alittle information. I found out that he had a good day. He had hamburgers for lunch. He got to play outside alot of times. He didn't play with anyone at recess (which made me want to scream) but then he said that everyone just played by themselves so I felt alittle better. He said one girl got her clothes pin on the next bear (which is NOT a good thing). And that is about it. So he goes back on Monday, he will do so good and love it and I will not love it and not do so good, but I guess that is how it is.
