Our Wonderful Kincaide Christmas '09

I couldn't move the pictures around like I would like so it might not make to much sense but it really was a wonderful Christmas.
Matt and Me with the boys after we finished decorating the tree.

Matt opening the present the boys painted for him. It was a popcorn bowl. And you might not be able to see it but he has some stocking stuffers in his hand that I couldn't find.....I put them in his present so when he opened it there was a little bit of confusion....oops.

Grandma Kathy sent the boys some reindeer food so on Christmas Eve we went out to the field and threw the food all over so the reindeer would have something to eat while they waited for Santa to get done putting out all the toys.

And here we are back at the tree decorating. We got our tree the week after Thanksgiving (as usual) and we decorated it and had shrimp and snacks for dinner (as usual) and we watched National Lampoons Christmas Vacation (as usual). The boys really love to decorate the tree! Matt really loves to watch the movie and I really love it all!
Every day we changed the numbers on the Nativity and the calendar to count down the days til Christmas but this was not enough. I still had to tell Kyle exactly how many days were left at least 5 times a day. This year I tried to do little crafty things with the boys and just little fun Christmas things. One night we watched "Polar Express" another night we made snowman pancakes, we had breakfast with Santa one day at the rec. center, we colored pictures for Grandma Kathy and we cut out snow flakes then we hung them all around the tree and by the table. By the way that creepy face on the TV is from the Polar Express.
Me and my friend Stacy went shopping on Black Friday and I got most of my shopping done. It was so nice to not be so stressed out with shopping the last few weeks before Christmas. I think I will start doing my shopping on black friday every year. I got some poppin deals!!!
Finally Christmas Eve came and the boys were totally beside them selves. We put them to bed and waited till they went to sleep then started doing the Santa thing. I don't think we went to bed till like 10:00 and the next thing I know it is 11:30 and Kyle is by my bed telling me that Santa already came!!!! So I got up to see for myself. On the way to the living room Kyle told me Santa thought we were good boys because he left us some toys. He showed me everything that he got and when he couldn't handle it anymore he asked if he could wake JD up. So I said he could. BIG MISTAKE. JD was up in a flash. They couldn't believe they got Optimus Prime the transformer and all kinds of cool things like Ninja Turtles. Anyway I finally talked them in to going back to bed by 1am but only if I would sleep with JD and they could take their Optimus Prime with them. I was laying in bed with JD and I could hear Kyle say to himself "this is so AWESOME" and that made my Christmas.
The next day we opened presents and had a big breakfast and had such a nice day. Matt was able to take the whole weekend off and it was nice not to think about him going back to work. So that was our wonderful Kincaide Christmas. I love being able to make our own little family traditions. Christmas is such a special time. I LOVE IT!!!
