Matt had to start Longwall Move this month. It is a sad time for us all. We miss him and hate that is gone so much. Before he started though we were able to do a few things together.
One day we went to Blue Mesa and went looking for treasures. The lake is so low that there are places that used to be home sites that have been covered with water for a long time. So we went looking for anything that might be cool.
We did find some neat things. We don't know what they are though. There was broken pieces of china and coal and all kinds of stuff. Kyle found a stick that was bent in half that he kept. That was his treasure.

Then we went to 25 Mesa with Pietak's and had a picnic and rode 4-wheelers.
There was a really cool ice cave that took us awhile to find. We may have been lost more than once.
We finally found it though. When we got there you have to repel down the side of a cliff to get to it. but it was worth it.
There was some burnt wood that you could write your name with. JD is trying.

It is hard to see the ice in the pictures but there is a water fall that comes down and keeps the cave cold enough to not melt the ice from the winter.
That is from the top where you have to repel down. We had a good time in the mountains but we always do. We had a busy week that week trying to get in as much as we could before Matty had to be gone. I think we did a good job and all had a good time. I just can't wait until he is done and we can get back to our summer.
