Our Trip 2012 Part 2 (Battleship NC)

Uncle Paul sent us a map of places by the beach we were going to.  The boys saw that there was a battleship and wanted to go there for sure!  So we went on our second day.  I couldn't beleive how huge the thing was.
I took this picture in the parking lot.
This is a Coast Gaurd boat that was close by.
Kyle and JD on the front of the ship.

I can't even imagine my little boys doing this.  Those men had to be so brave.
There was so much stuff below deck.  It took us a few hours just to look at everything.
This is the engine room.  Matt's Grandpa Kincaide worked in this room on another ship.  He said it was way over 100 degrees all the time with all the running motors.
I couldn't believe the size of this mixer.  This is the bakery, they also had a butcher shop, and a few more places they cooked.  It seemed like every extra space was used for beds and eating, sometimes both.  There was a barber shop, a few little stores to buy different things, a post office, a hospital, and anything else you could think of.  It really was like its own little town.
One of the sleeping quarters.  This must have been some kind of officers room because of the desk and the extra room.
I tried to take a good picture of all the beds.  They were four high and pretty dang close together.
Out on one of the decks.
 Kyle.

The ship was so dang big I couldn't get a great picture to show just how big.
